Second time participating in the annual Green Lakes Valley snow survey. I was lucky enough to come last year without knowing anybody and was very stoked to be able to come back again.I wasn’t able to make it up on Tuesday with everybody else, but thankfully Jen was able to give me a tow up on Wednesday morning. Thanks Jen!
I made it up to the Tundra Lab while everybody was starting to put on their boots for the day, and just in time to snag a breakfast burrito! Then we lined up outside and got towed into the field.
Da crew → Curtis, Cam, and Henry. ↓
Cam and one hell of a pinner above him.
For the first half of the day, we take depth measurements and dig a pit.
Then we get to ski.
and Cam, absolutely scorching ↓
After skiing that chute, we made our way up Arikaree to ski the East Face. All the boys ripped it. Then I dropped in last and triple tomahawked for everyone to watch at the bottom which made for some good laughs.
Back to the Tundra Lab.
Life in the Tundra Lab with some great people.
Curtis and I went back out Thursday morning to try and ski a line of Kiowa. We had some concern about windslabs and saw some recent naturals. We decided to turn around but took our time and soaked up the Green Lakes Valley ↓
